Ann Cleeves is international bestselling author of 29 novels, including her Shetland and Vera Stanhope novels, which have both been adapted into major TV dramas.
She was the chair of this year’s Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival during which Vera was voted the UK’s favourite fictional detective beating characters created by Ian Rankin and JK Rowling.
Her most recent Shetland novel, Thin Air, was nominated for the Scottish Crime Novel of the Year and she was also shortlisted for the prestigious Crime Writers Association Dagger in the Library award.
As well as fiction Ann has written a non-fiction title about Shetland (publishes October) and in November she will host the inaugural Shetland Noir festival on the Shetland islands
The Moth Catcher is her most recent novel, which features the much-loved Vera Stanhope investigating mysteries in Northumberland.
